Arlington High School
Way-Back Machine

Welcome
Arlington High School Classmates

Well, it's finally here. The 40-year reunion for the class of 1968 and 39-year reunion for the class of 1969. After some consultation between representatives of both classes, it was agreed that together, with a combined (original) total of nearly 1,200 classmates, we could put on the best, joint reunion party ever. High school reunion statistics show that the number of classmates who attend their class reunion is typically in the range of 20-30%. Of those who attend, 85% bring a guest. So based on those stats, and by applying them to our classmate numbers, we are expecting in the neighborhood of 500 people to attend.

We have already located nearly 600 of your fellow classmates in the last few months. As we search for our classmates, we hope everyone will send us a few leads with contact information. You can do so by sending the information through the CONTACT PAGE. Please be sure to provide maiden names in the case of female classmates.

While the class of 1969 has had pretty regular reunions every five years, headed by Terri (Butcher) Kennedy, it has been 20 years since the class of 1968 has gotten together. Terri has indicated that her 1969 class members should consider this their "40-year" reunion, because she is unlikely to take on the task again next year.

This website (launched February 5, 2008) has been designed to be fun and keep the lines of communication open between all class members.

Through the site you can:

• interact with other classmates through the CLASSMATE PAGES (see example here) section.
We will not violate any classmates' privacy by publishing their address, phone numbers or email address on the CLASSMATE PAGES, unless we are given specific permission to do so.

• order (and charge) reunion tickets online through the ORDER TICKETS page.
Be sure to check this page first, to learn about all of the reasons for ordering your tickets early, including FREE gifts valued at more than $20.00. You will also be permitted to have your own CLASSMATE PAGE on this website, where you can show recent photos of you, family, friends, pets, etc. and include a paragraph (as long as you like) about what has happened in your life, most memorable event, employment or any other topic (in good taste) that you like. We will include your contact information on this page (with your permission).

• donate prizes through the DONATE PRIZES page, to be given away on the night of the reunion.

• arrange to run personal or business ads on this website through the DISPLAY ADS page. All proceeds will go toward defraying the costs of the reunion.

• contact the Reunion Committee with questions, information and suggestions on the CONTACT page.

We have selected Saturday, July 5, 2008 as the date for our reunion. Reunion times will be from 5:00 p.m. - 12:00 midnight. We have made arrangements to hold the reunion at Primo Banquet Hall (south). We will have a full dinner and dress will be casual.

FREE musical entertainment will be provided by The KNIGHTSMEN oldies band. Most of the band members are graduates of Arlington High School and actually performed together in the 60's while attending AHS. They reunited in 1999, and have been performing together in central Indiana for the last (8) years. You can see the KNIGHTSMEN website for additional information, hear cuts from their (2) oldies CD's and download (4) FREE songs from their CD's. And don't worry, there will be plenty of time to socialize with fellow classmates during our 7-hour reunion, as the Knightsmen will only be performing for about 90 minutes.

July 5, 2008 (Saturday)

As stated previously, the reunion date is Saturday, July 5, 2008. Statistics show that July is the most popular month for class reunions. We hope out-of-towners will take advantage of the extended Independance Day weekend to drive or fly into Indianapolis to enjoy getting together with fellow AHS classmates.

Primo Banquet Hall (south)

The AHS reunion will be held at Primo Banquet Hall (south), 2615 National Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227 (click here for details on food/refreshments and a map with directions to the facility). Because of our projected number of attendees, we have rented a room large enough to accomodate 500 people and will only have tickets available for that many people. We believe that will be sufficient space based on national averages and attendance numbers for the last (3) 1969 class reunions. So order your tickets early, to assure your seats for the reunion. Remember there are tangible bonuses for doing so (click here for details).

Order Tickets

We have set a reunion ticket price of $30.00 per person ($60.00 per couple), to pay for all costs associated with this event. You can order (and charge) reunion tickets online through the ORDER TICKETS page, or send a check to the address on the CONTACT page.

To help defray costs, we will be offering various items for sale on this website (see the ITEMS FOR SALE page here).

Display Ads

We are also selling display ads to help defray costs and you will find ad rate information on the DISPLAY ADS page. You can run a regular business ad or if you have a little extra cash to spare, just run a "Compliments of" ad, perhaps with your current photo.

Donate Prizes

We are seeking prize donations from classmates to be given away the night of the reunion. Generally we would want tangible items (for example art). Items such as discount certificates, where the discount is more than 50% would be acceptable. I think we are pretty open to donation possibilities. Contact us through the DONATE PRIZES page.

What You Should Do First

1. Order your reunion tickets early and online, so you can take advantage of the price savings and bonuses.
2.
Submit your contact information to us through the CONTACT page.
3.

4.
Submit contact info for other classmates through the CONTACT page. Be sure to send maiden names along with possible new last names for female classmates.
5.
